A reamer assembly, comprising a modular drill tip having a cutting edge proximate a first end, a pair of flexible arms extending from and proximate to a second end and a first through-hole positioned between the first and second ends along a longitudinal axis, wherein the first through-hole is configured to receive a guide wire during a reaming process and a reamer shaft having a receiving end that is configured to receive and releasably hold in axial alignment thereto the pair of flexible arms, the reamer shaft having a second through-hole that is configured to receive the guide wire during the reaming process, wherein the first and second through-holes together create a common through-hole that is positioned along the longitudinal axis.
