The present invention relates to a plant-supporting belt whose purpose is to support a young tree against a stake as a means of protecting it against bad weather, particularly wind which would tend to bend it or even uproot or break it if it were not supported. This belt is composed of a plastic band 1 incorporating internal metal wires 4 or the like which are potted, twisted and galvanised. This belt is flexible and may be of a rubber that is resistant to ageing by weathering. At 3 it possesses raised moulded ribs for shedding rainwater.
