An animal toilet can be used in both closed and opened states and, in the openedstate, can compactly receive a movable hood. The animal toilet (1) has a wasteelimination container (2) and a hood (3). The hood (3) has a fixed hood (31) placedon the rear side of the waste elimination container (2), the movable hood (32)placed on the front side of the waste elimination container, and a pair of connectionsections (33, 33) for pivotally fixing the movable hood (32). The movable hood(32) has in its front face an opening (331) for interconnecting the inner spaceof the animal toilet (1) and the space outside it. To change the movable hood (32)from the closed state to the opened state, the movable hood (32) is pivoted whilebeing positioned outside the fixed hood (31). When the movable hood (32) is inthe opened state, the movable hood (32) is placed so as to cover the outer side ofthe fixed hood (31).
