To provide a method of preparing an adult somatic stem cell and a population of the adult somatic stem cells that are Lgr5+ and can be easily isolated and maintained.SOLUTION: A method of preparing an isolated somatic stem cell and a population of somatic stem cells from a blood or a bone marrow sample is provided, the somatic stem cell being 2 to less than 6 micrometers in size and being Lgr5+, CD9-, and CD349-.
