PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which effectively prevents exudation of excretion through a leakage prevention cuff.SOLUTION: Leakage prevention cuffs 34 of an absorbent article are joined to a surface sheet 31 while both end part areas along a longitudinal direction X are put down inward, and have standing property toward a body of a wearer. The surface sheet 31 comprises projection portions 50 which project in a width direction Y beyond both side edges of an absorber 33 and are not joined to the absorber 33. The projection portion 50 has an uneven structure consisting of a plurality of projections, which project toward the body of the wearer, and recesses.
