The present invention relates to an artificial underwater rock and a manufacturing method thereof, and more particularly, to an artificial underwater rock, which can provide a stable spawning and inhabitation space of shore-settling fishes by forming a cave-shaped inhabitation space and the shade by reflecting spawning and inhabitation characteristics of the shore-settling fishes. The artificial underwater rock of the present invention comprises: a column body (10) having any one shape selected from a circular column, a square column, a hexagonal column, and an octagonal column, having a ring (11) formed on an upper surface thereof, and having a shape of a narrow upper side and a wide lower side, which is wider toward an upper portion thereof； and a plurality of side inhabitation grooves (20) formed at regular intervals along the side circumference of the column body (10), formed with an inner space (22) wider toward the inside than that of an inlet (21) at a predetermined depth, and formed to be inwardly and upwardly inclined. A bottom surface of the column body (10) has a circular or rectangular plate shape, a plurality of rings (31) are formed on an upper surface thereof at regular intervals, and a support part (30) having a plurality of support legs (32) formed at regular intervals is formed on the lower surface thereof.본 발명은 인공 수중암초 및 그의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세히는 연안정착성 어류의 산란과 서식특성을 살려 동굴 형태의 서식공간과 음지의 그늘이 형성되게 하여 연안정착성 어류의 안정적인 산란과 서식공간을 제공할 수 있는 인공 수중암초 및 그의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 인공 수중암초는 원형기둥, 사각기둥, 육각기둥, 팔각기둥 중에서 선택된 어느 하나의 형태이며, 상부면에 고리(11)가 형성되고 상부로 갈수록 넓어지는 상광하협형상의 기둥몸체(10)와,상기 기둥몸체(10)의 측면 둘레를 따라 등간격으로 형성되며, 입구(21)보다 내측으로 넓은 내부공간(22)이 일정깊이로 형성되고, 내측으로 상향경사지게 형성되는 복수의 측면서식홈(20)으로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 한다.상기 기둥몸체(10)의 하부면에는 원형 또는 사각의 판형상이며, 상부면에는 복수의 고리(31)가 등간격으로 형성되고, 하부면에는 복수의 지지다리(32)가 등간격으로 형성된 받침부(30)가 구성되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
