PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter and a method for manufacturing the same which can suppress unplanned operation occurring to a distal end part of the catheter caused by a change of a path length of an operation wire when the catheter is inserted while being bent in a branch of a body cavity, such as the blood vessel.SOLUTION: A catheter 100 having a lumen 12 inside has: a large diameter resin tube 14 forming a lumen of a large diameter an operation wire small-diameter tube 16 having a small diameter which is disposed outside the lumen an operation wire 18 which is inserted in the operation wire small-diameter tube and has a distal end part joined to a distal end part of the catheter and a first reinforcement layer 22 which covers both the large diameter resin tube and operation wire small-diameter tube.
