602455 Disclosed is a method of making an amnion derived adherent cell that is adherent to tissue culture plastic and OCT-4&ndash/HLA-G&ndash as determined by RT-PCR, said method comprising: a. digesting amnion tissue with a first enzyme capable of dissociating cells from the epithelial layer of the amnion from cells from the mesenchymal layer of the amnion b. digesting the mesenchymal layer of the amnion with a second enzyme capable of forming a cell suspension from the mesenchymal layer c. culturing the cell suspension from step (b) on a tissue culture surface and d. selecting cells that adhere to said tissue culture surface.
