The present invention detects the mechanical anchorage of the implantable leads (1) in real-time i.e. while they are being fixed into the tissue using the lead fixation tool (2) by using a device attached to the leads. As the lead is fixed through the fixation tool, the resistance encountered to enter the tissue or the force applied to achieve the same is transferred thorough a mechanical system which can store energy. The values are calculated based on the equation guiding the relationship between amount of energy stored or corresponding movements and the strength of the anchorage, giving a direct valuation of the resistance offered to the lead. Hence, one can deduce whether or not the lead has been screwed into the tissue of interest or the surrounding areas.
