An object of the present invention is to provide a technique for producing a microcapsule containing a pesticidal compound in a fatty acid ester such as methyl O-acetylricinoleate, which delays the release timing of the pesticidal compound as compared to a conventional microcapsule. Provided is a method for producing a microcapsule, which comprises: (1) keeping a mixture of a pesticidal compound, a compound represented by formula (I): wherein X represents &mdash；CH2&mdash；CH2&mdash； or &mdash；CH&boxH；CH&mdash；, R1 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group, and R2 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group, and a polyisocyanate at 20 to 60° C. for 3 hours or more； (2) adding the mixture to water containing a polyol or a polyamine to prepare liquid droplets in the water； and (3) forming a film of polyurethane or polyurea around the droplets.본 발명의 목적은 종래의 마이크로캡슐에 비해서 농약 화합물의 방출 타이밍을 지연하는, 메틸 O-아세틸리시놀레에이트와 같은 지방산 에스테르중에 농약 화합물을 함유하는 마이크로캡슐을 제조하는 기술을 제공하는 것이다. 하기 (1) 내지 (3) 의 단계를 포함하는 마이크로캡슐의 제조 방법을 제공한다:(1) 농약 화합물, 화학식 (I) 로 표시되는 화합물 및 폴리이소시아네이트의 혼합물을 20 내지 60 ℃ 에서 3 시간 이상 동안 유지하는 단계:(식 중, X 는 -CH2-CH2- 또는 -CH=CH- 를 나타내고, R1 은 C1-C4 알킬기를 나타내며, R2 는 C1-C4 알킬기를 나타낸다)；(2) 상기 혼합물을 폴리올 또는 폴리아민을 함유하는 물에 첨가하여, 수중에 액적을 제조하는 단계； 및(3) 상기 액적의 주위에 폴리우레탄 또는 폴리우레아의 피막을 형성하는 단계.
