An object of the present invention is to provide a technique for producing amicrocapsule containing a pesticidalcompound in a fatty acid ester such as methyl O- acetylricinoleate, whichdelays the release timing of the pesticidal compound ascompared to a conventional microcapsule. Provided is a method for producing amicrocapsule, which comprises: (1) keeping amixture of a pesticidal compound, a compound represented by formula (I) :wherein X represents -CH2-CH2- or -CH=CH-, R1 representsa C1-C4 alkyl group, and R2 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group, and apolyisocyanate at 20 to 60°C for 3 hours or more； (2)adding the mixture to water containing a polyol or a polyamine to prepareliquid droplets in the water； and (3) forming a film ofpolyurethane or polyurea around the droplets.
