The invention relates to a method for the harvesting of tree fruit, especially that of forest trees, and for the recording of forest damage and the execution of tree-care measures and the like, in which the trees or forests are approached or travelled over by a balloon or small airship, controlled by means of a rope from the ground surface or by navigation means and filled with supporting gas, having a trailed workbasket vertically adjustable relative to the said balloon or small airship, the work to be executed being carried out at the same time. The method according to the invention affords very considerable advantages in comparison with all methods known hitherto, since it can be employed even in extreme situations when the set-up time is very short, and for recording damage and also in care work.
