PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microbial fuel cell capable of achieving power generation by making effective use of greening aspects as well as a greening structure.SOLUTION: The microbial fuel cell includes: a microorganism-containing layer containing electric current-generating bacteria and organic matter; a negative electrode disposed in contact with the microorganism-containing layer and taking out electrons generated by decomposing organic matter with electric current-generating bacteria; a positive electrode disposed so that oxygen in external environment is in contact with external environment containing oxygen and supplying electrons to oxygen; and a greening base material layer capable of growing plants in upward external environment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
