An orthodontic correction system is disclosed for correcting Class II malocclusions, Class III malocclusions, dental asymmetries and/or dental related skeletal anomalies in which the patients dentition is permanent or near permanent. The correction system attaches to a patients dentition via a novel orthodontic appliance that is affixed to, e.g., pre-installed upper and lower archwires. The correction system includes one or more adjustable length assemblies each of whose ends pivotally attach to a patients preinstalled maxillary and mandibular archwires. Each pivot is a ball hinge comprising a spherical head that pivotally attaches, allowing the alignment assembly to have free excursion, motion, and/or rotation along multiple axes.
