PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of scavenging active oxygen species harmful to a living body present in a gas phase such as cigarette smoke, and to provide a scavenging formulation of the active oxygen species.SOLUTION: This method of scavenging active oxygen species in a gas phase includes a step of bringing solid substance to which cyclic nitroxyl radical is immobilized into contact with active oxygen species present in the gas phase.
