The shaft comprises a cross-section adapted to receive a users bite, the cross-section having a substantially polygonal perimeter to aid manipulation of the sensor inside the patients mouth. The sensor holder further comprises a substantially flat body having a substantially flat surface adapted for removably attaching a sensor to the sensor holder.
