PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber which improves soft touch and shape retention of an absorbent core simultaneously by using a core wrap sheet made of a non-woven fabric, and an absorbent article using the same.SOLUTION: An absorber includes an absorbent core 1 made of a liquid absorbent material and a core wrap sheet 2 which covers the absorbent core 1 and is made of a non-woven fabric, and has a front part F arranged on an abdominal side of a wearer, a crotch part C arranged in a crotch, and a rear part R arranged on a back side in a longitudinal direction when a direction from the abdominal side of the wearer to the back side through the crotch is the longitudinal direction, and a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction is a width direction. In the absorber, the absorbent core 1 has a shape which is inwardly constricted in the width direction at the crotch part C. The core wrap sheet 2 has a napped part 3 in a part of a surface facing an upper side and a lower side of the absorbent core 1. The napped part 3 extends from the crotch part C in the longitudinal direction. Napped areas are different between the napped part of the upper side and the napped part of the lower side.
