An ultrasonic enhanced-contrast imager transmits a number of ultrasonic beams, each of the beams carrying a continuous ultrasonic signal constructed by connecting waveforms of different frequencies and inverting the ultrasonic signals with respect to the time axis. Upon receiving the response signals as a result of reflection of the beams from the object to be examined, the response signals are phase-processed and added together.
