PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display image data output from a medical instrument as the same images as those observed during an inspection by means of the medical instrument, and to provide desired feature images for recorded images at any timing.SOLUTION: A medical image reproducing apparatus reads an image file output from a medical instrument capable of switching and displaying observed images of a subject and images different from the observed images, and reproduces image information recorded in the image file. The image file includes image information of the observed images and timing information indicating display switching timing. From the image file, recorded images including the observed images and image-relevant information including the timing information are extracted, and feature images are generated. An image switching control portion has a function of switching display images to be output to a reproducing and display portion to either the recorded images or the feature images in synchronization with the timing information at least.
