PURPOSE: A wheelchair with a lateral safety wheel for vehicle dynamic control is provided to prevent a user from injury and damage of a car body by the overturning of a wheelchair as the vehicle dynamics is stably maintained in case of irregular or declined road condition, or an incident unexpectedly happened. CONSTITUTION: A wheelchair (100) with the lateral safety wheel (130) for vehicle dynamic control comprises: a car body frame in which a seat sheet (113), a back of the wheelchair (114), and a foothold (116) are combined and supported; a pair of back wheels (111) arranged from side to side which are rotatably installed in the rear of the car body frame; a pair of fore wheels (112) arranged from side to side which are rotatably installed in front of the car body frame; a pair of safety wheel frames (120) arranged in the left and right side which are installed in one point selected from among the front of the fore wheel, the rear of the back wheel, a point between the fore wheel and the back wheel; and safety wheels rotatably installed in the fore-end of the safety wheel frame. The safety wheel frames are arranged in the car body frame and the length of the safety wheel frame is changeable weftwise. A wheel track between the safety wheels is bigger than a wheel track between the fore wheel and the back wheel in case the safety frame is outspread. The above safety wheel frames are installed in the car body frame in order to enter by sliding to inside and outside of the car body frame.본 발명은 수동식 또는 전동식 휠체어에 관한 것으로서, 종래의 휠체어가 노면의 불량이나 도로 환경 및 주행 중 발생하는 돌발상황 등에 의하여 쉽게 전복되는 것을 방지함으로써 예기치 않은 전복 사고로 인한 탑승자의 안전사고를 미연에 방지하고 차체의 손상을 예방하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 발명에서는 휠체어 차체 프레임의 좌우 측방에 대기 상태에서 펼친 상태로 폭 방향의 길이가 가변될 수 있도록 안전바퀴 프레임을 마련하였으며, 운행 중 차체가 위험을 감지하거나 차체의 자세가 균형을 잃는 경우 차체 자세 감지 센서가 이를 감지하여 안전바퀴 프레임을 신속하게 펼쳐 구동함으로써 휠체어의 전복을 방지하는 구조를 제안한다.
