FIELD: agriculture.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machinery industry. The gauge header comprises a housing 1, a hinge torque link 8, dished boots 9 rotating freely on the axis, a drive gear of the working elements 10 and a mechanism of stabilising the cutting height stabilisation. On the housing 1 there is a screw 2, a reel 3, a gauge of the cutting unit 4 with a flexible band 5 which is attached to a skid 6 along its width and a shield 7 above. The hinge torque link 8 is made in the form of two wire trapezoidal torsions with necked-out free ends at the right angle. The elements of the wire torsion - the torsion and a lever bearing are coaxal with each other and parallel to the axis of the opposite side base of the wire torsion. The torsion is fixed, for example, using parallel welded plates with holes and splints with one side on the housing 1 of the prestress gauge header, and the other side on the skid 6. The projection of axis of the wire torsion attachment on the housing 1 of the gauge header on the plane of the skid 6 is located in front of the axis attachment in the direction of movement of the other side of the wire torsion on the skid 6. The dished boots 9, freely rotating on an axis, are mounted underneath under each skid 6 near the cutting unit with the convex side down.
