PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more highly active hyaluronidase activity inhibitor than conventional inhibitors, and to provide an external preparation for skin, having effects such as not only a moisture-retaining effect and a chapped skin-improving effect, but also a skin tension, texture, gloss-improving effect, a skin pore-obscuring effect, a somberness-improving effect, and a moisture retention-sustaining effect, which have not been obtained by conventional hyaluronidase activity inhibitors.

SOLUTION: The hyaluronidase activity inhibitor includes an Ulmus davidiana extract as an active ingredient. The external preparation for skin contains an Ulmus davidiana extract in an amount of 0.0001 to 10 mass% as a dry residue, and preferably further a Portulaca oleracea extract in an amount of 0.0001 to 10 mass% as a dry residue.
