Disclosed is a high oxygen permeability material based on marine biological substances, which is formed by compositing a silicon-containing substance and a bioactive substance in the presence of a crosslinking agent; the silicon-containing substance has a siloxy group, and the bioactive substance is at least one selected from alginic acid, collagen, hyaluronic acid and salts thereof. Also disclosed is a method for preparing the high oxygen permeability material, comprising: in acidic conditions, mixing the silicon-containing substance and the bioactive substance, and then crosslinking the resultant mixture in the presence of a crosslinking agent. Also disclosed is the use of the high oxygen permeability material or the method in the preparation of corneal contact lenses, corneal scaffold materials or corneal substitutes. The high oxygen permeability material obtained in the present invention can satisfy the requirement for high oxygen permeability during prolonged wear and has a good wearing comfort.
