PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus for displaying additional information to an ultrasonic image so that an operator can recognize it.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus has a transmission/receiving means, a synthesizing means, an image generation means, and a display control means. The transmission/receiving means transmits ultrasonic waves to a subject and receives an echo signal from the subject. The synthesizing means synthesizes additional information represented by luminance higher or lower than the luminance shown by the echo signal into the echo signal. The image generation means generates ultrasonic image data for display on the basis of the echo signal into which the additional information has been synthesized.
