The present invention provides a method for preparing crystalline meropenem trihydrate represented by chemical formula 1 by hydrogenating bis-meropenem represented by chemical formula 2 in a mixture of tetrahydrofuran and water only by adjusting pH using a base without using a buffer solution； and a method including an optimized reaction condition for manufacturing meropenem including the same. According to the method for preparing crystalline meropenem trihydrate of the present invention, meropenem hydrate with high purity and high yield can be prepared just by simple post-processes. Moreover, unlike meropenem trihydrate prepared by a prior method, the meropenem trihydrate of the present invention has a significantly reduced amount of residues of an organic solvent, especially acetone.본 발명은 화학식 2의 비스-메로페넴(bis-Meropenem)을 완충용액 없이 염기를 이용한 pH 조절만으로 테트라하이드로퓨란(Tetrahydrofuran)과 물 혼합액에서의 수소화 반응을 통해 화학식 1의 결정형 메로페넴(Meropenem) 삼수화물을 결정화하여 제조하는 방법 및 이를 포함하는 메로페넴의 제조를 위한 최적의 반응조건을 포함하는 제조방법을 제공한다. 본 발명에 따른 메로페넴 삼수화물의 제조 방법은 간단한 후처리 공정만으로 고순도, 고수율의 결정형 메로페넴 수화물을 제조할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또한, 본 발명은 종래 기술에 따른 제조방법에 의해 제조된 메로페넴 삼수화물과 달리 잔류 유기용매, 특히 아세톤의 잔류량이 현저하게 감소된 메로페넴 삼수화물을 제조할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
