Disclosed is the use of a pharmaceutically acceptable composition comprising an effective amount of lansoprazole or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for the preparation of a medicament for use in the treatment of cancer wherein the lansoprazole is formulated for administration at a dose of about 120mg to about 400 mg per day or about 10 mg/kg to about 100 mg/kg.
