PURPOSE: A composition containing piperidine compounds which is an inhibitor of peroxiredoxin activity is provided to treat and prevent cancer. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating cancer suppresses Prx I activation. The composition contains piperidine compounds of chemical formula I, isomer, and pharmacologically acceptable salt as an active ingredient. In general formula I, P is phenyl group or pyrrol group； X is ketone group(C=O) or sulfonyl group(SO_2)； and Q is hydrogen, halogen, methoxy group, ethoxy group, phenyl group, phenyl amine group, or styrene group. An inhibitor of Prx I activation contains the piperidine compounds of chemical formula I as an active ingredient.
