The wave-guiding optical element projects a laser beam (200) with a reduced beam angle on the deflection mirror in the direction of the rotatable axis. The deflection mirror has a mirror angle oriented in the direction of the rotatable axis. The mirror angle is smaller than an unreduced input beam angle of the laser beam on the wave-guiding optical element. An independent claim is also included for a method for deflecting a laser beam.
