Disclosed are a method for estimating a location of a wearable device and a device using the same. A location estimation device for estimating an installation location of a wearable device attached to a pet according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a sensor unit for sensing movement of a pet to output a triaxial sensor signal; a feature extraction unit for extracting angular velocity signals of an x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis and acceleration signals of the three axes from the triaxial sensor signal output from the sensor unit, and calculating a feature value for each of the axes within a pre-configured time interval; a motion determination unit for determining motion by processing the feature value output from the feature extraction unit according to a classification algorithm; a pattern provision unit for storing a motion pattern learned according to a machine learning algorithm; a gravitational acceleration direction determination unit for determining a gravitational acceleration direction by filtering out pre-stored acceleration signals from the determined motion or comparing the acceleration signals of the axes with one another; an angle calculation unit for calculating an angle formed in reference to a ground surface, on the basis of the determined gravitational acceleration direction; and an installation location determination unit for calculating an installation location of a wearable device on the basis of the angle, formed in reference to the ground surface, provided by the angle calculation unit and of the gravitational acceleration direction provided by the gravitational acceleration direction determination unit.L'invention concerne un procédé d'estimation d'un emplacement d'un dispositif portable et un dispositif l'utilisant.
