PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an insecticide which can control insect pests damaging the growth of plants, or the like, without causing environmental disruption. SOLUTION: This insecticide is obtained by subjecting a citrus and a sharp spice to a condensation treatment, a press extraction treatment or a dry pulverization treatment. The insecticide is obtained by mixing the citrus and the sharp spice with at least one of alcohol, a saccharide, persimmon or tea and then subjecting the mixture to the condensation treatment, the press extraction treatment or the dry pulverization treatment. Mandarin orange is preferably selected as the citrus, and cayenne pepper and/or Japanese pepper are preferably selected as the sharp spice. If necessary, the insecticide may be dyed into a color liked by a specific control target insect pest.
