PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical prosthtic member that has excellent antibacterial property and can safely be used even in the inner oral cavity and to provide a method for antibacterial treatment of the medical prosthtic member that has excellent antibacterial property and can safely be used even in the inner oral cavity.
SOLUTION: The antibacterial prosthtic member for medical purpose is made of titanium or titanium alloy coated with titanium nitride. The coating film of the titanium nitride can be thickened more than 0.1 &mum. In addition, the antibacterial prosthetic member is made of titanium or titanium alloy having titanium nitride coating film and octadecyl-dimethylammonium chloride film on the nitride layer.
