To provide a novel and improved medical light source device and a control method for the medical light source device that are capable of accurately adjusting the color temperature of a light receiving unit.SOLUTION: A medical light source device comprises a plurality of light sources, a light monitor unit, and a control unit. The light sources each allow adjustment of the emission light amount. The light monitor unit detects the emission light amount of each light source.
