The electrode catheter is provided with a catheter shaft (10) having a lumen (11) that serves as a liquid channel, an insulated irrigation part (20) connected to the leading end thereof, and an electrode tip (30) connected to the leading end thereof. In the irrigation part (20), a storage space (24) for the liquid supplied from the catheter shaft (10), multiple openings (25) disposed at equiangular intervals along the outer circumference of the irrigation part (20) for discharging the liquid in the storage space (24), and liquid-guiding grooves (26) extending from each opening (25) towards the tip are formed. On the surface of the base of the electrode tip (30), liquid-guiding grooves (36) that connect respectively with the guiding grooves (26) of the irrigation part (20) are formed. With said electrode catheter, abnormal temperature elevations (high temperature parts) are not generated in portions of the electrode tip during cauterization, cooling of the electrode tip surface and inhibition of thrombus formation on the electrode tip surface are excellent, and cauterization can be performed efficiently.
