The present disclosure relates to a method of treating acne wherein said method comprises applying topically an effective amount of stable substantially aqueous composition comprising from about 0.001% to about 1.5% of isotretinoin by total weight of the composition. The present disclosure also relates to stable substantially aqueous topical composition comprising isotretinoin and a viscosity-enhancing agent.
