The present invention refers to an absorbent material, such as a non-woven web or a tissue paper, comprising continuous filaments and short fibers, the short fibers comprising natural and/or synthetic fibers or staple fibers, wherein the absorbent material exhibits an absorbency speed of equal to or less than 2 s and a weight loss when washed of equal to or less than 5 %.
