The frame (107) is moulded from composite material. A first connector (151) inside the container (101) is located between the vertical side-walls (102) and receives at least one cage (131) for holding an animal (141). A second connector (152) is attached to the ground-plate (114) at the outside of the container (101) and connects the container (101) to floor-tracks (162) in the passenger cabin (161) of a vehicle so that the container (101) is secured against displacement.
