A process for adjusting the wettability property of a plurality of on-demand activation-type microcapsules of a core and shell structure including the steps of: (a) providing a plurality of microcapsules of a core and shell structure, wherein the shell includes a polymeric matrix containing a certain amount of unreacted functionalizable reactive electrophiles covalently bonded to the surface of the wall of the shell of the microcapsules and (b) contacting the plurality of microcapsules of step (a) with a certain amount of nucleophiles wherein the nucleophiles are adapted to react with the electrophiles and wherein the nucleophiles are adapted to modify the wettability property of the microcapsules shell structure to a predetermined degree of hydrophilicity or solvent compatibility.Linvention concerne un procédé pour régler la propriété de mouillabilité dune pluralité de microcapsules du type à activation sur-demande dune structure de noyau/enveloppe, comprenant les étapes consistant à : (a) fournir une pluralité de microcapsules dune structure de noyau/enveloppe, lenveloppe comprenant une matrice polymère contenant une certaine quantité délectrophiles réactifs fonctionnalisables intacts liés par covalence à la surface de la paroi de lenveloppe des microcapsules et (b) mettre en contact la pluralité de microcapsules de létape a) avec une certaine quantité de nucléophiles les nucléophiles étant conçus pour réagir avec les électrophiles et les nucléophiles étant conçus pour modifier la propriété de mouillabilité de la structure denveloppe des microcapsules à un degré prédéterminé de caractère hydrophile ou de compatibilité de solvant.
