Cette propriété cicatrisante peut être expliquée par la richesse phytochimique de lhuile en composées très connues par leurs pouvoirs antibactérien et/ou anti-inflammatoire et/ou antioxydant. Lhuile de fuit de Pistacia lentiscus, selon létude, possède des propriétés biologiques qui la mettent en valeur à léchelle pharmacologique/thérapeutique spécialement la dermatologie (pour le cas de lésions, de brûlures ou autres formes dinflammations cutané) et la cosmétologie (pour le cas de traitement préventif et/ou curatif des troubles de la peau).
