PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a possibility of leakage of loose passage or the like while reducing costs.SOLUTION: An absorbent auxiliary pad has an absorber and a liquid-permeable surface material and is placed in an absorbent article. The absorbent auxiliary pad has a columnar shape with flexibility. The absorber extends along a longitudinal direction of the absorbent auxiliary pad and has a side surface in a shorthand direction crossing the longitudinal direction covered with the surface material. The absorbent auxiliary pad has a dimension in the longitudinal direction between 800 mm and 1500 mm. A cross sectional shape of the absorbent auxiliary pad when cut on the surface crossing the longitudinal direction is nearly rectangular or nearly circular. An outer periphery of the cross section is between 90 mm and 250 mm.
