A cosmetic agent comprises a combination of at least one active substance (A) and an active substance (B). Substance (A) is selected from the group of triethyl citrate, 3-[(2-ethylhexyl)oxy]-1,2-propanediol, 2-benzyl heptanol, phenoxyethanol, phosphates, alkanediols with 6 to 10 carbon atoms (such as 1,2-hexanediol, 1,2-octanediol, 1,2-decanediol), tropolone, silver salts, alkaline earth oxides (such as magnesium oxide), aluminium salts (such as aluminium chlorohydrate), aluminium/zirconium salts (such as aluminium-zirconium tetrachlorohydrex glycine), as well as mixtures thereof. Substance (B) is selected from the group of quaternary ammonium compounds (such as cetylpyridinium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, or benzethonium chloride), zinc salts (such as zinc hydroxide carbonate or zinc phenolsulphonate), polyglycerol esters (such as polyglyceryl-2-caprate), sorbitan esters (such as sorbitan caprylate), octenidine, carnosic acid, tartaric acid, and mixtures thereof. The agent may also comprise also at least one deodorant agent (C). The combination may be used in the prevention of body odour and also as an antiperspirant.
