Described herein are systems and methods for the treatment of pain using electrical nerve conduction block (ENCB). Contrary to other methods of pain treatment, the ENCB can establish a direct block of neural activity, thereby eliminating the pain. Additionally, the ENCB can be administered without causing electrochemical damage. An example method can include: placing at least one electrode contact in electrical communication with a region of a subject's spinal cord； applying an electrical nerve conduction block (ENCB) to a nerve in the region through the at least one electrode contact； and blocking neural activity with the ENCB to reduce the pain or other unwanted sensation in the subject.Systèmes et procédés pour le traitement de la douleur à l'aide d'un bloc de conduction nerveuse électrique (ENCB). Contrairement à d'autres procédés de traitement de la douleur, l'ENCB peut établir un bloc direct d'activité neuronale, ce qui permet d'éliminer la douleur. De plus, l'ENCB peut être administré sans causer de dommages électrochimiques. Un procédé donné à titre d'exemple peut consister à : placer au moins un contact d'électrode en communication électrique avec une région de la moelle épinière d'un sujet ； appliquer un bloc de conduction nerveuse électrique (ENCB) à un nerf dans la région par le biais du ou des contacts d'électrode ； et bloquer l'activité neuronale avec l'ENCB afin de réduire la douleur ou une autre sensation indésirable chez le sujet.
