Use of electricity in the treatment of acne orrosacea on the skin is described. The electricity is generatedby a first conductive electrode that is an anode in electriccommunication with a second conductive electrode that is acathode. Both first and second conductive electrodes areadapted to be in ionic communication with the skin, where thedifference of the standard potentials of the first and secondconductive electrodes is at least 0.2 V. Electrons that passbetween the first and second conductive electrodes aregenerated as a result of the difference of the standardpotentials. Use of the electricity through a device comprisingthe conductive electrodes is also described.
