The present invention relates to a method for promoting withstanding or resistance of plants to drying or drought by using a RCAR2 protein wherein the RCAR2 protein is a receptor of ABA and induces blocking porosity by activating SLAC1 ion channels at a final step of signaling ABA, and a RCAR2 gene is used for transforming plants and accordingly expressed overly, thereby producing plants with promoted resistance to dry stress and being used for increasing the productivity of plants.본 발명은 RCAR2 단백질을 이용하여 식물의 건조 또는 가뭄에 대한 저항성 또는 내성을 증진시키는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 RCAR2 단백질은 ABA 수용체로서 ABA 시그널링의 최종단계에서 SLAC1 이온채널을 활성화시켜 기공폐쇄를 유도하므로, RCAR2 유전자로 식물체를 형질전환하여 상기 유전자를 과발현시킴으로써 건조 스트레스에 대한 저항성이 증진된 식물체를 생산할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 식물의 생산성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
