PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subjective optometer smoothly progressing an examination of heterophoria.
SOLUTION: This subjective optometer is provided with an optotype presenting device 2, a pair of optometry units 10R and 10L, a selection button for selecting either one of a horizontal prism and a vertical prism, a controller 3 for controlling the pair of optometry units 10R and 10L and the optotype presenting device 2 wherein each optometry unit 10R and 10L has a plurality of different optical members other than the horizontal prism and the vertical prism and disposes a prescribed optical member on an optometric window based on a control signal from the controller 3. When the prism is selected by the operation of the selection button in performing the heterophoria examination, this optometer is shifted to a heterophoria examination mode, disposes a prescribed auxiliary optical member on the optometric window of one optometry unit 10R or 10L corresponding to an item of the performed heterophoria examination and disposes a prescribed examination prism on the optometric window of the other optometry unit 10L or 10R to present prescribed optotypes.
