Dual agonists targeting both FXR and TGR5 may be useful in the treatment of kidney and gastrointestinal disorders as well as various liver and metabolic diseases. The present invention relates to methods and novel intermediates useful in the preparation of compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The object of the present invention is to provide a process for preparing bile acid derivatives and novel intermediates.
