The inventive method consists in applying the concentrations of mixtures of the following Volatile Organic Compounds to healthy Carica papaya plants: 1. 1,3, dichlorobenzene, 2. benzyl alcohol, 3. 2-nonen-1-ol, 4. Benzyl isocyanate, 5. Benzyl nitrilate, 6. Cyclodecanol, 7. 2,3 dichloroanisol, 8. benzyl isothiocyanate, for inducing natural resistance in plants and their effects against plagues and diseases. Healthy plants are early induced by these VOC’s to protect themselves from plagues and diseases, producing transcriptional changes in plants and being susceptible to be genetically and transgenically manipulated. The concentrations are applied to the different parts of the plant, and the seeds and propagules for unchaining the defense responses of the plants for example, the application may be performed as a seed coating, irrigation water, filters, foliar spray and pulverizations. The benefits also include the response in the improvement of the seeds, propagules and plants. It is a technology in the agriculture derived from the Chemical Ecology field, since there is a direct response (resistance), an indirect response (attractant of natural enemies) and a communication between plants as important points for the early vaccination, amongst other benefits for other crops.El método consiste en aplicar a las plantas sanas de Carica papaya las concentraciones de mezclas de los siguientes Compuestos Orgánicos Volátiles (COV) identificados como: 1,3, dicloro benceno, 2. alcohol-bencílico, 3. 2-nonel-1-ol, 4. Isocianato de bencilo, 5. Nitrilato de bencilo, 6. ciclodecanol, 7. 2,3- dicloro ansiole, 8. isotiocianato de bencilo para inducir resistencia natural de las plantas y sus efectos contra las plagas y enfermedades. Estos COV inducen tempranamente a las plantas sanas a protegerse de plagas y enfermedades, producen cambios transcripcionales en las plantas y son susceptibles de manipularse genética y transgénicamente.
