A grasping tool (20) for removing a stent from the body of a patient. The grasping tool has a grasping head (38) forming two jaws connected to each other and configured to be shifted between an open state and a closed state. Each jaw includes three portions having different thicknesses. The grasping tool is configured to obtain sufficient holding force between the jaws while requiring reduced operating force of the tool. L'instrument de préhension comporte une tête de préhension (38) formant deux mâchoires reliées l'une à l'autre et conçues pour se déplacer entre un état ouvert et un état fermé. Chaque mâchoire comprend trois parties d'épaisseur différente. L'instrument de préhension est conçu pour exercer entre les mâchoires une force de retenue suffisante tout en exigeant seulement une force d'actionnement réduite de l'instrument. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour retirer un stent d'un patient.
