PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of effectively suppressing the temperature rise of the distal end of an insertion part.
SOLUTION: At the distal end 14 of an electronic endoscope 10, an illumination part 49 for illuminating the inside of a body cavity is disposed. One end of a heat conduction film 54 is attached to the illumination part 49, and the other end of the heat conduction film 54 is attached to the inner wall on the rear end side of the insertion part 14. In the heat conduction film 54, a heat conductivity in the length direction is higher than that in the thickness direction and the direction of heat conduction is anisotropic. Heat generated in the illumination part 49 is not much transmitted in the thickness direction of the heat conduction film 54 and the large portion of it is transmitted to the part of a lower temperature than the illumination part 49 in the length direction of the heat conduction film 54, that is to the rear end side of the insertion part 14. The heat transmitted in the length direction of the heat conduction film 54 is cooled by air inside the rear end side of the insertion part 14 without the presence of a heat source in the process of heat transmission.
