A device 1 for sorting a harvested stream of fruit in bunches and intended to be mounted in a harvesting machine, comprises least two transverse sorter bars 3 driven in rotation with a cyclic relative movement about a transverse axis. The sorter bars 3 and the movement are adapted to enable longitudinal displacement of the stream over the bars 3 and to continuously increase and decrease passages 4 between them. This allows the movement of detached berries through the passages 4 to drop under the sorting device 1 when the passages 4 are increased, and precludes movement of the detached berries through the passages 4 when the passages 4 are decreased. The distance between the axes of the sorter bars 3 is adjustable in order to modulate the geometry of the passages 4.
