A method of styling hair comprising the following steps: i) using a crystalline organic material or mixtures thereof to manufacture a hair care composition wherein the crystalline organic material or mixtures thereof have an intrinsic property of taking up water at 25°C and 70%RH of at least 10 wt% of its total weight at 0.1 % RH iii) applying said hair composition to the hair.Linvention concerne un procédé de coiffage comprenant les étapes suivantes : i) utilisation dun matériau cristallin organique ou de mélanges de plusieurs dentre eux pour fabriquer une composition de soin capillaire, le matériau organique cristallin ou des mélanges de plusieurs dentre eux ayant une propriété intrinsèque dabsorption deau à 25 °C et 70 % de HR dau moins 10 % de son poids total à 0,1 % dHR iii) application de ladite composition aux cheveux.
